Terms of Use

Last updated: September 6, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Kowork desktop application and the getkowork.com website (together, the "Service"), published by Grégoire Hertault ("we", "us"). By using the Service, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Open-source software

Kowork is free and open-source software released under the MIT License. The license — not these terms — governs copying, modification, and redistribution of the source code.

Your responsibilities

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising from your use of the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim — Kowork being free of charge, that amount is zero.

Third-party services

AI providers, connectors, Exa, GitHub, and Cloudflare are independent third parties. We are not responsible for their services, content, terms, or privacy practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page and in the Kowork repository. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of France. Any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the courts of France, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence provide otherwise.
