Connect an AI Provider

An AI provider gives Kowork access to AI models. You need an account or API key from a provider before Kowork can begin a task.

Choose a provider

Kowork lists popular choices such as OpenCode, Anthropic, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI, Google, OpenRouter, and Vercel. Choose a provider you already use, or compare the plans and models on each provider’s website.

Note

Your provider may require a paid plan, credits, or usage-based billing. These charges come from the provider, not Kowork.

Connect your provider

1. Open Kowork.
2. Select Settings in the left sidebar.
3. Select Providers.
4. Find your provider under Popular, or select Show more providers and search for it.
5. Select Connect beside the provider.
6. Follow the connection options shown. Depending on the provider, you may sign in through your browser, enter an authorization code, or paste an API key.
7. Wait for the confirmation that the provider is connected.

The provider now appears under Connected, and its available models can be selected in a task.

Tip

If a provider offers more than one connection method, choose the option that matches the account or API key you have.
